Jud-isms, #1

Jud Ross was my rowwing coach in college. He was a great man. To honor his memory, and jog mine, I'd like to list some of his "sayings". He repeated them often and loud. Decades later I've come to realize some meanings that perhaps were deeper than a twenty something could comprehend.

In no particular order:
1) Don't Save Anything!
2) Be as Relaxed as a Wet Washrag
3) Many Hands Make Light Work

More to come as I think of them...

Pebbles

As I'm getting older I'm finding that some physical things are more difficult. Keeping my strength up is a constant challenge. My flexibility, even more.

As I sort thru the things that hinder my abilities I'm finding that the part that "hurts" is usually the noticible part. But the part that is being protected by that hurting part is more often the real problem. Like having a pebble in my shoe for so long, I've changed my gait so much to avoid the pebble I don't feel it any more. Now I'm complaining that my knee or hip hurts. Which it does, of course, now. Trying to find the pebble, the root cause, and discover if it is now fixable (removable), is the quest.
